Privacy Policy - Just Write It

1. Introduction

Just Write It ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Just Write It iOS keyboard application and the website at just-write-it.app (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive:

A unique user identifier provided by the authentication provider
Your email address (or a private relay email in the case of Apple Sign In)

We do not receive or store your password from any authentication provider.

2.2 Text You Transform

When you tap the transform button, your text is sent to our AI processing service (powered by Anthropic Claude). We do not store, log, or retain the content of your text. The text is processed in real time and the result is returned to your device immediately. We do not have access to anything you type until you explicitly choose to transform it.

2.3 Usage Metadata

We collect anonymous usage metadata to enforce rate limits and improve the Service:

Number of transforms per day
Character count of input and output (not the text itself)
Language and style selected
Response time and AI provider used

2.4 Device Information

We may collect a hashed device identifier to detect and prevent abuse (e.g., creating multiple accounts for repeated free trials). This identifier is stored as an irreversible hash and cannot be used to identify you personally.

3. How We Use Your Information

To process subscription payments via Apple App Store
To improve the Service and fix issues

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Anthropic (Claude AI) — processes your text transformations. Anthropic's API does not use your data for training. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
Apple Sign In / Google Sign In — authentication only. We receive a user ID and email.
Apple App Store — handles subscription payments. We do not process or store payment information directly.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosts our backend infrastructure in the US (us-east-1 region).

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. Usage metadata is retained for up to 30 days. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed. A hashed record of your email may be retained to prevent trial abuse upon re-registration.

6. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. Your text is never stored on our servers. Authentication tokens are signed with industry-standard cryptographic algorithms. We follow security best practices for infrastructure and access management.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Opt out of any non-essential data collection

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
